Jerlean Noble, founder and president of Columbia Writers Alliance. She is a 30-year retiree of the Department of Psychology at the University of South Carolina. Mrs. Noble is a published author of several books, one of which she won the African-American Historical and Genealogical Award for Historical Fiction. She is also a public speaker, historian, genealogist, and minister. She is a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Dr. Charlene R. Sims, a member of the Columbia Writers Alliance, received her Doctorate in Business Administration in March 2025. She is the proud mother of two. She also has a bachelor’s in Legal Studies and a master’s in Public Administration. Dr. Sims’ mission is to give back by teaching on the collegiate level and pursuing a leadership role in Columbia’s local government. Her motto: “I aspire to inspire before I expire.”

Quantella Jamaica Perry is Secretary/Treasurer and a Board Member of Columbia Writers Alliance. She is an accomplished author, a reverend, and a dedicated mental health counselor, helping individuals overcome life’s challenges and embrace personal growth. Ms. Perry holds a MA in Human Resource & Administration, BA in Psychology with a minor in Mental Health Counseling and Theology. She has authored self-help books, faith-based literature, and novels, all with the mission of inspiring others to live boldly and embrace healing.

Myra Davis-Branic is a historian and a native New Yorker with strong family ties to the Low Country of SC. She is the author of three books: “Mita”, “28+1 People to Talk or Post about for Black History Month: Volume One”, and “Cornbread My Soul: The Davis Family of Eutawville, South Carolina.” In this book, she traces her ancestors back to enslavement on a plantation called The Rocks, through American epochs like the Great Migration, and her meeting the descendants of their enslaver, Captain Peter Gaillard.

Rosa Rachell Bennett is an Author and Entrepreneur. She has years of experience in reading and literature. With various publications, Rosa is now overseeing new work in collaboration with CWA. She also oversees a huge library of banned and old reknowned books.

Ms. Louise Williamson Brown is an inspiring woman with many accolades. She is a well-rounded professional. In the field of medicine, she is a master 's-prepared registered nurse certified in critical care nursing (CCRN) and Clinical Documentation Integrity (CCDS). She’s also CEO of American Lifesavers, LLC, and now an aspiring author. Look out for her upcoming book, “Understanding Who We Are.”

Ida Renee Thompson is a veteran educator with both practical and administrative experience in all phases of library media center management, technology education, and distance education at building and district levels. She was a school librarian in Richland One who went on to serve as the district’s media consultant and later as director of Instructional Technology Services until her retirement in 2016. She was recently inducted into the Richland School District’s Hall of Fame.

Myra Robinson is new to CWA and is already workiing on her second book. Her first book is entitled “O.I. WARRIOR! Living with Osteogeneses Imperfecta. She is a mother of 3 and a grandmother of two. In her words she states “My story is not for the timid. People may think I am weak and fragile, but I am more than a conqueror. As you read my story, you may reflect on yourself, your next-door neighbor, or a family member. If you have any challenges in your life, you can do anything you put your mind to. God is with you. To give you the strength you need, that is what he has done for me and continues to do for me.”

Rev. Frank Houston is Chaplain and Board Member of Columbia Writers Alliance. He is the Associate Minister of First Calvary Baptist Church, an author, historian, retired professional chef and public speaker. His personal statement is “I am simply a man of God, doing what I was called to do. I do not dwell on accolades, only that others may see God in me.”

Kenneth T. Brown (affectionately known as K.T.) is a husband and father to 3 beautiful children. He’s also a teacher and a masterful writer of Afrofuturism books of which he’s won two awards. His first novel was “The Adventures of Peter Tucker: Introduction of the Tiger.” With his recent accomplishments, the journey is far from over. K.T. is currently working on an Afrofuturism Y.A. novel entitled Path of the Lion Rising Kingdom and is looking to get other works soon to be published. Mr. Brown graduated cum laude with a B.A. in English at Allen University in 2017 then earned his MFA in Creative Writing at Converse University in 2021.

Pastor Betty Nickson Fairnot, is a valedictorian graduate of Sacramento Theological Seminary and Living Water School of Ministry. She is the founder of Fairnot’s Compelling Hedges and Highways and the Potter’s Resurrection Tabernacle Ministries. A mother of three and grandmother of fifteen, she has authored You Can Live Again and Inspired to Live Again to inspire those experiencing loss. Pastor Fairnot shares, “Through many trials, I came to see God as my strength and my bridge,” guided by John 5:30 in seeking God’s will above her own.

Elizabeth Alexander is a new author at CWA. Her first book, “In the Eyes of the Beholder,” is on Amazon and she is about to publish her 2nd novel. She is a mother of 4 beautiful children, 2 boys and 2 girls, and a Gigi of 5 grandchildren which consist of 3 boys and 2 girls. In her words, “God has granted me 48 years here on earth and I'm counting for many more. I stepped out on only His Word, not knowing where I was going to end up, but knowing God has never failed me yet, and He’s not going to fail me now.

Rochester Baker, Sr. is the Former President of the South Carolina Association of Parliamentarians. Mr. Baker is the author of “One Row at a Time.” He is a member of the National Association of Parliamentarians where he has achieved the status of Professional Registered Parliamentarian.
